IFC licenses feature and short films from all genres: American and British independent, foreign language, documentary and animation. IFC Media Lab was developed in direct response to the ever-increasing amount of video content being produced by "amateur" filmmakers. IFC Media Lab is a Web/TV integrated program that provides filmmakers with a destination for posting their independent films online, offers viewers the chance to watch and vote on those films, and places the top viewer-ranked films on IFC's air in a national broadcast and beyond. To that end, we send acquisitions staff to the major film festivals, including, but not limited to, Cannes, Sundance, Berlin and Toronto to scout new films and new film makers. We also attend screenings in the New York City area. IFC does not and cannot accept unsolicited submissions for feature films nor will we respond to inquires regarding such submissions. An unsolicited project will only be returned to sender upon request.

Unsolicited Submission Policy (Fiction/Scripted Projects):
Due to the high volume of submissions, as a general practice, IFC does not accept unsolicited material. Any unsolicited pitches, outlines, scripts, etc. will not be read and will be discarded. Unsolicited emails will be deleted without being read. IFC will accept materials from agents, managers, reputable producers and production companies. Our best advice is to find an agent or attorney to represent you and your work. The purpose of this policy is to avoid any potential misunderstandings if your original work seems similar to an IFC Original since many works and submissions are based on the same or similar ideas. Please note, if you choose to submit anyway, IFC will not be obligated to treat your ideas and materials as confidential or proprietary AND, BY MAKING SUCH A SUBMISSION, YOU WILL BE DEEMED TO HAVE ACKNOWLEDGED THAT IFC HAS NO OBLIGATION AND YOU HAVE NO CLAIM BASED ON SUCH SUBMISSION. IFC Productions acts as an equity partner with established indie talent to produce low-budget ($500K to $4M total) films free of studio agendas. IFC Productions considers only fully packaged projects. Fax a 2-3 page proposal to 516/803-4506 containing a synopsis of the script/story and with brief bios of the primary people attached to the project (producers, writer, director or other talent) along with a concise outline of your total budget and the amount of financing you are seeking.
