The world of documentary filmmaking is about to get a huge overhaul with the upcoming debut of IFC's newest series Documentary Now!. Therefore, it's time now for series creators Seth Meyers, Fred Armisen and Bill Hader to head to other truth-exposing media entities and spread the word about the program. The intrepid trio guested on today's episode of The Howard Stern Show and revealed a few tasty nuggets about the show.

Here's something you might not have known: the concept for Documentary Now! actually sprang from the Saturday Night Live sketch "History of Punk," which stars Armisen as English punk rocker Ian Rubbish, a rebel who has unusually kind feelings about Margaret Thatcher. The idea of a highly detailed documentary spoof struck the three, who were all preparing to leave SNL, and the rest is history.
