Fred Armisen Could Score a Whole Lot of Emmy Noms

Comedy dynamo Fred Armisen has had one hell of a year. Between the smashing first season of Documentary Now!, the latest epic season of Portlandia, and his top-to-bottom hilarious hosting gig on Saturday Night Live, Armisen earned himself more laughs-per-capita than anyone this year. In fact, there's proof of that: His exemplary work garnered the most submissions on this year's Emmy ballots, more than any other actor or actress. (Runner-up is the equally awesome Keegan-Michael Key with four.)

According to EW, Fred's in the running to be nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series for Portlandia, Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series for Documentary Now!, and Outstanding Guest Actor in a Comedy Series for SNL, Man Seeking Woman, Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt and Difficult People. And if there was a category for "best accents," we imagine Fred would be nominated for that as well.

How many nominations will Fred score? We'll find out when the Emmy nominations are announced on July 14th. At the risk of playing favorites, here's hoping he goes six for six.
